Pennsylvania 500 Predictions
- Sponsored by Sunoco Red Cross
- Race Date: July 31 - August 2, 2009 -
After packing in their gears and tires and mobile homes from the Brickyard 400, the good ole’ boys are now heading to the mountains in Pennsylvania for the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at the Pocono Motor Raceway or otherwise known as “The Triangle”. No kidding, this track is one corner short of a square!
The Brickyard 400 was won by the #48 car, but it comes with a bit of controversy, as the leader for most of the race Juan Montoya was penalized for speeding on Pit Road and it cost him big time, like $448,001 dollars! Rules are rules and if he crossed the line and sped on Pit Road, it sucks to be you Juan! Everybody knows the rules going into the race, and it’s something you can overlook or just close your eyes. Technology is there to prove it and you will be a better race car driver for it down the road.
However, it’s time for Montoya to look forward and take that anger and channel it into the Pennsylvania 500 this weekend. The offshore oddsmakers have made Jimmie Johnson the favorite to win this race at 5 to 1 odds, followed by Tony Stewart (6/1) and the 50 year old Mark Martin (7/1).
If you followed my Brickyard 400 predictions, you made money betting on Jimmie Johnson, as I gave him out as my Bronze pick to win and he made us some money.
