Today’s NHL Picks
Columbus PK +175: Hitchcock will be going with Garon and that’s good news, because Mason has been too inconsistent this season. If the same Jackets team that played the Hawks tough on Saturday, we got a shot at the dog money. Plus, Nash finally broke his goal slump and he says when he scores, they seem to come in bunches.
Toronto PK +110: All reports indicate Toskala will get the nod this evening vs. the Thrashers and he’s 6-0 lifetime vs. Atlanta. Plus, the Leafs are 7-3 SU in their last 10 trips to the Peach State.
NYR PK -185: The Rangers really gelled on Sunday vs. the Habs, they scored 6 goals, the team fought, and that’s a sign of a team gelling when they start sticking up for each other.
Detroit PK +130: The Red Wings have found their number 1 goalie two weeks ago and that’s why they are playing better of late. Howard has been outstanding. Although they aren’t winning more games, every Red Wings game seems to be a 1 goal difference. Detroit is 7-2-1 last 10 in Washington. Theodore is 2-6 SU vs. Detroit lifetime.
Ottawa PK +155: If you want value, Ottawa +155 is exactly that! The Sens are a new team with their captain in the lineup and the break seems to have done him some good, especially that he’s getting up there in age. Both teams are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, so there’s the fatigue balance. Huet is 5-6 SU lifetime vs. Ottawa.
Pittsburgh PK -200: I would love to pull the trigger on the Islanders and ride the DiPietro band wagon, but they are in a classic letdown spot after their 4-0 win over the Devils. Penguins coming off a long western road swing, so I have concern there as well. NYI are 2-8 SU in their last 10 at the Igloo and the OVER is 7-3-0 in those games. Pass.
Anaheim PK -120: The line is telling you who is going to win this game! Miller is a question mark, so look for Lalime to maybe get the start. Tough spot for Buffalo after a blow out win, letdown spot here.
LA Kings PK +100: Great spot here for the Kings, they get a Sharks team who just spanked the Flames 9-1 and they’ve won 7 of their last 10 games. NO pressure on the Sharks. Quick is 3-0 lifetime vs. the Sharks and the Kings are hitting 60% this season as a home dog. It seems to be a doggy dog night!
