Ron Raymond’s NHL Hockey Predictions (Tuesday, February 02, 2010)
The NHL has 9 games on deck for Tuesday, February 02, 2010 and hockey handicapper Ron Raymond has released his predictions. In fact, you can get all of Ron’s final score predictions at Hockeypicks.com.
Ron Raymond’s NHL Picks
Toronto PK +130: The Leafs chased one of the top goalies (Luongo) in the league out of the game Saturday night, they built a 3-0 lead, but then, the house of cards came crumbling down! Maybe it was the meltdown Brian Burke needed to witness before he sparked the busy Sunday, which involved six leafs on being traded out of town. The Devils have not looked dominating of late and Giguere is schedule to get the nod this evening and he’s looking to prove something to his doubters. Jiggy is 3-1 lifetime vs. the Devils and he will be looking to impress his new team and fans tonight in what should be an electric scene in Dion Phaneuf’s home debut as a bud. When ANY NHL Team played as a home team - Vs Non Division Opponent - Last 5 years - playing on Tuesday - Coming off vs Western Conference opponent - Coming off 3 overs; the Home Team (Toronto) is 13-6 SU in this spot.
Boston PK +120: Here’s the thing with the Bruins and I believe it’s why they are mired in a 7 game losing streak. What makes the Bruins great is their intimidation and physical presence of their big men, Thornton, Lucic and Chara. Lucic is the straw that stirs the drink, since his return to the line up, he’s been playing scared and doesn’t want to get involved. Aside form the Columbus game; he has 2 minutes in penalties! A guy like Lucic needs to be physical every night and once he starts racking up 5 to 12 minutes of penalties a game, the Bruins will start winning hockey games. Lucic needs to start banging, which will then get Thornton and Chara more emotionally involved. Plus, being a home tonight has to mean something to the Bruins who are getting great dog value. When BOSTON team played as a home team - Before a conference game - After a non division game - Coming off 2 unders; the Bruins are 12-6-2 SU in this role since ’96.
Tampa Bay PK +120: Nittymaki owns the Thrashers; he’s 15-0 SU lifetime vs. Atlanta. When TAMPA BAY team played as a Road team - During the month of February - Coming off vs Eastern Conference opponent - Coming off vs Southeast division opponent; the Lightning are 8-5-1 SU in this road role.
Vancouver PK -150: Talk about lady luck! Down 3-0 to the Leafs, then ex-Leaf goalie Andrew Raycroft replaces Luongo and he steals the show in a 5-3 win over the Buds on Hockey Night in Canada during Hockey Day. Canadiens are snake bitten of late and Price is scheduled to get the nod and he’s horrible at home this season with a 5-9 SU record. Ouch! When MONTREAL team played as a home team - With 2 days off - Coming off a 3 game Road stand; the Canadiens are 2-8-2 SU in this spot.
Nashville PK -145: The Coyotes have never played well in this building, they are 1-8-1 SU in their last 10 and Rinne is 3-0 vs. Phoenix lifetime. When NASHVILLE team Played as Home team as a Favorite - Before a non division game - During the month of February; the Predators are 11-2 SU in this home favorite role.
Dallas PK -135: If this was 1980, it would be called a inter-squad Norris Division scrimmage between the Green and White. The Minnesota North Stars who are now the Dallas Stars are 10-0 SU vs. the Wild in their last 10 meetings in this building. Turco owns the Wild with a 13-4 SU record. When DALLAS team played as a home team - Vs Non Division Opponent - After a conference game - Scored 2 or less goals FOR in their last game - Coming off vs Pacific division opponent; the Stars are 41-9-2 SU in this spot.
Colorado PK -180: The Avs have hit the wall and can’t score goals anymore! However, they have a great goaltender that’s having a Vezina type season and look for Anderson to stop the bleeding should he get the nod. Blue Jackets are 3-7 SU in their last 10 visits to the Pepsi Center. When ANY NHL Team Played as Home team as a Favorite - Vs Western conference opponent - After a non conference game - Coming off a Home loss as a Favorite - Coming off a 3 game losing streak; the Home Fave is 13-2-2 SU in this spot.
Detroit PK +160: At first glance or your gut instinct will say to play on San Jose. However, the Red Wings are 2-0 vs. the Sharks this season and they are 4-1 SU vs. their last 5 overall head to head matchups. Value is on the Wings at +160. When DETROIT team played as a Road team - Vs Western conference opponent - With 1 day off - Coming off a 1 goal loss - Allowed 2 goals AGAINST in their last game; the Red Wings are 8-2-2 SU in this spot since 1997.
NY Rangers PK+140: Let’s take a shot and go with the Rangers who will be facing a Kings team who could have tired legs after a long eastern road swing. When ANY NHL Team played as a home team - Vs Eastern conference opponent - During the month of February - playing on Tuesday - Coming off vs Atlantic division opponent; the Home Team (LAK) is 11-25-6 SU in this situation.

Northern Trust Open Golf Predictions
- Tournament Date: February 4 - 7, 2010
One of the best things about betting on golf, you get great value on your golf picks each weekend! Let’s face it, aside from NASCAR and Tennis, which other sports gives you an opportunity to cash in thousands of dollars on a $100 bet from January to October? If you can get great golfers like Mike Weir +3250 and Steve Stricker at +1215 nearly each weekend, you will be glued to the couch on Sundays, but you need to make sure your golf prediction has a hot putter. Because we all know in golf, you drive for show, but you putt for dough!
Here are my Gold, Silver and Bronze predictions for the 2010 Northern Trust Open.
Ron Raymond's Northern Trust Open Golf Predictions
Gold Pick: Mike Weir +3250
Keys to selection: Mike shot an average of 66.8 at the Bob Hope Classic a few weeks ago and never hit the 70 mark. Mike took last week off, so look for him to stick around on Sunday, especially if he brigs that hot putter.
Silver Pick: Tim Clarke +2550
Keys to selection: Tim has already played in two events this year and he finished second in the Bob Hope Classic. Let’s take a flyer on the South African this weekend. Great value when you consider he’s averaging 67.3 per so far this year.
Bronze Pick: Charles Howell III +4050
Keys to selection: Always like to take an underdog as my bronze pick and considering Howell has played in every event thus far, he’s made the cut in each one of them! Plus, let’s look for some karma to strike again, as he’s won this event in 2007.
