NFL Football Week 1 Matchups

The economy has been struggling the last few years and there’s a real “research and development” period going on right now in many industries and one of the biggest challenges has been the transition of making money from print media to online media.

Every conversation in business today starts with money; how much, who benefits and how do we get a return on our investment? What worked in the past is a crap shoot in the year 2010! In order to justify a salary in today’s world, each asset must bring in money towards the big picture and no other sport in our industry fills the coffers like Football. If I were to give one piece of advice to any sole proprietor in business today; "network with somebody who can pull their weight and put your self in a “give and take” relationship." A good friend once told me, the day you stop making money in business, will be the day you start saying no and stop being Mr. Nice!

How do you make money in the sports betting business?

It’s a grind and you have to make sure you pick your spots; people who gamble every day are the ones who will take a bath in the long run. The NFL football regular season will be upon us in a few weeks and now is the time to handicapping for your NFL Futures bets.

We have some interesting NFL Matchups in Week 1. First, we have Brett Favre who re-joined the Minnesota Vikings on August 17th , they will kick off the 2010 NFL campaign on Thursday night September 9th vs. the defending Super Bowl Champions, New Orleans Saints.

In fact, some of the best games to watch are division rivalry games and it doesn’t any bigger than the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Redskins. In my opinion, it’s like watching the Red Sox and Yankees go head to head in October. Furthermore, there are 7 division games scheduled for NFL week 1 and some teams have crucial “look ahead” situations to consider.

What is the “Look ahead” factor?

Here’s a description from my book “Ron Raymond’s 50 Greatest Sports Betting Secrets”. The Look Ahead factor is a situational handicapping strategy best used betting on college football or basketball. In college sports, especially in the SEC, PAC 10 and the BIG 10, you have some major rivals, such as Florida vs. Florida State, Michigan vs. Ohio State. Bet against teams who have a MAJOR RIVAL GAME ON DECK next week. For example, when Michigan is playing Buffalo Bulls in Week 10 and they have Ohio State in Week 11, depending on each team’s situation, bet against Michigan and Ohio State in this spot. However, make sure both teams are having good seasons.

Now, we are talking NFL Football for Week 1 and some teams have some big games on deck (Look ahead situations); NY Giants (Indianapolis), Miami Dolphins (Minnesota), Buffalo (Green Bay), Chicago Bears (Dallas), New England (NY Jets), San Francisco (New Orleans), NY Jets (New England).
