With the NCAA college football season in full swing, the importance of matchups between top ranked opponents gets more intense every week. This Saturday No. 1-ranked Alabama will face their stiffest competition yet, No. 7-ranked Florida.
The two SEC rivals have enjoyed undefeated seasons so far, Alabama with victories over Penn State and Arkansas, and Florida against a number of unranked opponents. The tilt will mark the third time in four weeks that the Crimson Tide have taken on teams ranked in the Top 25.
For the Gators it will be an early test and an opportunity to prove that they deserve top-10 praise. With quarterback John Brantley leading the show in the first year post-Tim Tebow, the club has fared well enough to instill faith in its legion of followers. They currently remain the last undefeated team in the SEC East.
The SEC West, however, is a different story, with Alabama, Auburn and LSU all sitting at 4-0.
Between running backs Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson, the Crimson Tide have gotten rushing production on a consistent basis. Will it keep up in Week 5? Or will the Gators pull off what would assuredly go down as their biggest victory of the 2010 season. The choice is yours, so get off the couch and get in the game.
Bodog Sportsbook currently lists Alabama as favorites to win the game by 8 points, so bet now.

When the Washington Redskins head to Philadelphia this Sunday fans will see more than just a typical Week 4 game between division rivals. Never mind the fact that the Redskins and Eagles will be fighting down to the wire in a wide open NFC East, this particular tilt will mark the first official homecoming of former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.
Between 1999 and 2009, McNabb started 148 games at QB for the Eagles before signing with the Redskins in the off-season. In his absence, Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid has put Michael Vick at QB; a decision made easier when Kevin Kolb went down with an injury in Week 1.
For two consecutive weeks Vick has made Reid’s decision to stick with him upon Kolb’s return look genius. On Sunday Vick threw three more touchdowns and ran for another, giving Eagles fans faith that life will continue without 33-year-old McNabb running the show in a Philadelphia jersey.
According to Bodog Sportsbook, the Eagles, at 2-1, have 25/1 odds of winning the 2011 Super Bowl. The Washington Redskins, however, have just 55/1 odds after falling last weekend to 1-2. With neither Dallas nor New York looking particularly threatening early on, the jury is still out on who will prevail in the division.
The Dallas Cowboys will sit in Week 4, while the New York Giants take on the Chicago Bears. Can the Giants cover the spread against the surprising Bears or fall behind in the NFC East?
