“Obviously the biggest move of the week has come in the Indianapolis Colts, who after hearing Peyton would be out for 2-3 months went from 14-1 to 20-1, to 30-1 and now combined with how poorly they played Week 1 are up to 60-1 and we are still not taking a cent on them. Injuries to quarterbacks will always affect the game line, total or future odds but I have never seen a QB like Peyton Manning have such an impact to this degree. They have a good matchup this week as 2 point underdogs against Cleveland but if they lose that one will easily go to 100-1 or more. The last time Indianapolis were home dogs in a game where they were not resting players at the end of a season was in Week 9 of 2007 against the Patriots.”

NFL Divisional Playoff Round Will Have Tough Act To Follow
By Ron Raymond on Jan 12, 2011 | In NFL ODDS
The NFL’s preliminary wild card round came and went last weekend, taking a turn that nobody quite expected. This time around, in the divisional playoffs those same first-week victors will try their luck against the top teams in each of the respective conferences.
The Seattle Seahawks surprised the entire league with a 41-36 victory over the reigning champion New Orleans Saints just one week after becoming the first NFL team in league history to qualify for a playoff berth by leading their division with a losing record. Though they finished just 7-9 in regulation, the Seahawks now have 40/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl.
Pete Carroll and his team of overachievers will look to take the momentum of their historical wild card win and put it to good use against the Chicago Bears. The Bears finished the season with an 11-5 mark after getting out to a good start in 2010 and never looking back.
Elsewhere in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers will look to try their luck against the first-place Atlanta Falcons. After downing the Philadelphia Eagles in an upset on Sunday, the team will hope that Aaron Rodgers’ recent return to health continues. Has he completely recovered from the two concussions he faced during the regular season?
In the AFC the New York Jets edged out the Indianapolis Colts. Although they finished the regular season with a better record, the Jets win is being heralded as an upset. The dramatic fashion in which they won it has already helped set the bar for this year’s post-season pretty high.
The Jets split a pair against the New England Patriots this season, will they be able to follow through on 12/1 odds they have of winning the Super Bowl? The Pats are listed as favorites with 8/5 odds.
The fourth and final first-round matchup will feature the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Will Ben Roethlisberger manage to put his at-times disappointing 2010 year behind him once and for all after serving a suspension for the season’s first six weeks? A trip to the AFC championship might do it.
