Soccer Betting Rules at SBGGlobal Sportsbook
There are basically two types of soccer betting lines. There is the straight soccer betting money line and what is called three-way soccer betting odds. Let’s take a look at both of these soccer betting types. The money line in soccer betting odds is just like a baseball betting line. It might look like this:
(This is an example only)
- Brazil +150
- Argentina -170
- Total 2.5 over -120
In this particular example it is a straight soccer betting money line where you risk $170 for every $100 you want to win on Argentina or the 17/10 equivalent. If you pick Brazil you get $150 for every $100 wager on Brazil or the 10/15 equivalent. The over/under is 2.5 with the over at -120.
The three-way soccer betting line includes the draw option and is listed as such:
(This is an example only)
- Brazil +220
- Argentina +130
- Draw +170
- Total 2.5 over -120
The soccer betting odds in this case adds the draw option so that if the game ends in a tie it would pay $170 for every $100 wagered. During the regular season the bets are official after 90 minutes of play, or regulation time in futbol game results.
World Cup Semifinals: Uruguay vs. Netherlands Betting Odds

World Cup Semifinals: Uruguay vs. Netherlands
Tuesday, 2:30 pm Eastern – ESPN
Uruguay and the Netherlands will meet on Tuesday in the World Cup semifinals betting with the Netherlands favored to advance to the final. The Netherlands upset Brazil in the quarterfinals and now must avoid overconfidence as they face Uruguay on Tuesday. The Netherlands has yet to lose a match in the World Cup but head coach Bert van Marwijk is warning his team not to overlook Uruguay.
The Netherlands is a -160 favorite at SBG Global.
Van Marwijk is reminding his team of what happened two years ago when the Netherlands was favored to become European champions and then lost in the quarterfinals. He doesn’t want his team overlooking Uruguay. On paper, it seems like the Netherlands should win this match without too much difficulty. The Netherlands won all eight of their qualifying matches and now they have won all five of their World Cup betting matches.
Uruguay was very fortunate to get past Ghana in the quarterfinals as they survived on a missed penalty kick after Luis Suarez was red-carded for a handball. The handball was worth it though as Ghana missed their penalty kick at the end of overtime sending the game to penalty kicks where Uruguay won 4-2. Uruguay will be without Suarez in this semifinal match against the Netherlands as he was suspended. Uruguay will also be without defender Jorge Ciro Fucile who is suspended and they might be without injured captain Diego Lugano and midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro. The Netherlands will be without defender Gregory van der Wiel and midfielder Nigel de Jong who are suspended.
For Uruguay to win this match they are going to need Diego Forlan to score. He is the one true scoring threat with Suarez out of the lineup. The Netherlands has a lot more scoring depth led by Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder.
The last seven World Cup finals odds have involved only five teams but that will change this year with the winner of this match between Uruguay and the Netherlands in the final. Only five teams since 1982, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France and Italy have played in the World Cup. If the Netherlands wins this semifinal against Uruguay and Spain defeats Germany on Wednesday, there will be a first-time World Cup winner. The Netherlands played in the 1974 and 1978 final but lost both times. Uruguay has won the World Cup twice.

World Cup Quarterfinal: Argentina vs. Germany

World Cup Quarterfinal: Argentina vs. Germany
- Saturday, 10 am Eastern – ABC
Another classic matchup is on tap for Saturday in World Cup quarterfinal betting action as Argentina battles Germany in a game that can be seen on ABC. Four years ago it was Germany winning 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the teams played to a 1-1 draw after extra time. The match on Saturday is expected to be just as exciting.
Argentina is a -150 favorite at SBG Global.
Germany’s focus on Saturday will be on Lionel Messi. Germany captain Philipp Lahm said that the team will be trying to keep Messi under control. Messi has not scored a goal yet during the World Cup but he has opened up the field for other strikers including Gonzalo Higuain who leads all scorers in World Cup goal scoring.
Argentina has not lost a match so far in the World Cup odds and they have been as impressive as any team. Germany lost 1-0 to Serbia in the group stage but they had no trouble with England in the round of 16. Both teams are very confident heading into Saturday’s match. Argentina’s Carlos Tevez said he was more afraid of Mexico than he is of Germany. The trash talk has been prevalent on both sides as Germany’s Bastian Schweinsteiger said that Argentina is not respecting his side and captain Phillipp Lahm said that he can’t wait to see how Argentina reacts to losing.
Both Argentina and Germany have shown the ability to score goals in this year’s World Cup. Argentina has Messi, Carlos Tevez and Higuian while Germany has Miroslav Klose Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil. With so much firepower for both teams the match could come down to the defense. Argentina will need captain Javier Mascherano to contain Germany’s strikers while Germany will need Lahm to keep Messi in check.
The pressure is on both teams to win this match. Argentina head coach Diego Maradona has promised big things for this World Cup betting and a quarterfinal loss will not go over well while Germany will be playing in front of Chancellor Angela Merkel. Argentina is a two-time World Cup champion as they won the title in 1978 and 1986 while Germany is a three-time champion, having won the title in 1954, 1974, and 1990. The teams have met five times previously in World Cup play including twice in the final.
