One of the top questions I get ask about the top recommended sportsbooks, “how do they come up with their numbers?” How many times have you watched a football or basketball game and you look at the ticker in the corner, there’s 30 seconds left in the game and you say to yourself, “how in the heck did they pick that number?”
I would say, they are on the button about 80% of the time and in football they might be a touchdown off or 3 points off in basketball. How many times have you sweated the last 30 seconds of a game or have a team back door you in the last minute? I’ve lost count after 200, but you get my point. It’s a numbers game and if you don’t have the right sports handicapping software to beat the numbers, you will just keep scratching your head and try to figure out how they come up with the numbers.
That’s why, I built the ATS Calculator many years ago, so this way, I will have the edge when it comes to beating the point spread. Granted, the ATS Calculator still needs a bit more tinkering, but ask my clients how much they value the ATS Calculator when they are doing their handicapping.
Now, Ask yourself another question: “what am I using to beat the numbers?” If you need help winning at sports betting, it must start with a philosophy and then a strategy. If you’re a football coach and you’re going up against a football team who ranks number 1 in defense against the pass, don’t you think you’re strategy should be to avoid the pass and incorporate more of a running game? How are you beating the numbers?
I’ve been preaching for 10 years, you have 3 angles to approach in sports handicapping; statistical, situational and general sports knowledge of the game. What tool are you using to beat the sportsbook from a statistical point of view? What tool are you using to research the situational point of view? If you’re serious about sports betting, then you need a starting point and that’s why the ATS Calculator and ATS Database websites are the lobby’s to your hotel of winning! When you sit down and start handicapping your game, you must say to yourself; “OK, how did the bookmakers come up with these numbers?”
