Ron Raymond’s NHL Hockey Predictions March 5, 2010

Coming off a 6-3 night and there’s some interesting matchups this evening. Here are my picks for Friday night.

Buffalo PK -130 vs. Philadelphia: The Flyers have a look a head spot here with Toronto on deck Sunday and they are 0-3 on the road before Toronto games. When ANY NHL Team Played as Home team as a Favorite - Vs Eastern conference opponent - During the month of March - playing on Friday - 3 games in 4 nights; the Home Fave is 11-4-1 SU.

Nashville PK +170 vs. Detroit: The Red Wings are healthy, but I’m still not convinced they are worthy of being a -200 favorite at home with a losing record.

Chicago PK -150 vs. Vancouver: At first glance the Canucks are a great value play here at +130, but the Hawks are 17-3 SU at home after a non-division game and they are 7-1 vs. Northwest division teams this season. When CHICAGO Played as home team as a Favorite - During Last 2 Years - Won Last Game by 3 Goals; Hawks are 7-3 SU.

Minnesota PK -180 vs. Edmonton: Always tough to back the Oilers in any situation this season, especially when Backstrom is 14-1 SU vs. the Oilers lifetime. When EDMONTON played as Underdog- Vs NORTHWEST Division; Oilers are 2-13 SU L15 in this role.

New Jersey PK -110 vs. Calgary: The Flames seem to have internal issues and to get shutout by the Wild on their home ice is more then just a red flag. The Flames are 0-3 SU this season on home ice when the total is 5.0.
