Notre Dame, Army to play at Yankee Stadium in 2010

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play a football game at the New Yankee Stadium next season vs. the Army Black Knights. According to the AP press release, this news will be official next week, as there will be an announcement coming out on this NCAA Football game.

However, laying a football field in a Baseball stadium will be a tough task and to be honest, is not the best way to view a football game. However, it will be a great experience for New Yorkers and I guess this is more of a marketing tactic then a huge football news announcement.

Plus, according to the source, Notre Dame still has two dates opened on their schedule for next year, and November would appear to be a primary month to play the game.

Since 1996, Notre Dame and the Black Nights have met only twice, with Notre Dame winning both games. Notre Dame was favored by -25 points in the first game in 1998 and by -29 points in the second game in November of 2006. Results are shown below.
