Bruins Put Zdeno Chara Dehydration Behind Them, Take Game 3
The Boston Bruins saw hulking defenseman Zdeno Chara return to the ice for Game 3 of their first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday, and with him, their chances of survival.
The Bruins won the third contest - the first on raucous Montreal soil - by a score of 4-2, giving them their first series win after dropping a pair in Games 1 and 2.
Now just one game back, the Bruins will be hungry to even the series and start playing like the No. 3 seed favorites they are. Seeded No. 6, the Habs have just 22/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup.
After allowing just one goal in the first two games, Carey Price looked mortal in net Monday night, allowing three goals in just 24 shots. If Boston plans to put themselves back in the spotlight they’ll need continued performances like that one. According to Bodog’s online sportsbook, they have 18/1 odds of winning the championship.
With Chara back and at full health, the Bruins are considerably more intriguing when it comes to betting on the NHL. After missing Game 2, reportedly dehydrated, he’s back and ready to resume the responsibilities that made him captain.
Think the Habs can hold on to their series lead and finish off an upset over the Bruins?
