WGC Bridgestone Invitational Golf Predictions and Betting Odds
Tournament Golf Dates: August 6 - 9, 2009
Seventy Five of the top PGA Golfers in the world will get an invite to the WGC-Bridgestone invitational and have a shot of the huge purse which is roughly around 8 million dollars. Tiger Woods is the current favorite to win at +165 odds, which means if you wager $100 on Woods to win, you would net $165 in profits. Tiger Woods is very comfortable with this event, as he’s won 6 of the last 10 WGG-Bridgestone Invitational events and he holds the tournament record by shooting a -21 and 259 to win the event in 2000.
Will Phil Mickelson be back this weekend?
Yes golf fans, lefty is back this weekend! Phil Mickelson is back after some time off to be with some ailing family members and the Las Vegas Sportsbook and online betting shops have made lefty a +1525 underdog to win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational this week.
Retief Goosen is back after losing the 2009 Canadian Open in a playoff with Nathan Green and he’s a +3050 underdog price this weekend at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
The 2009 Open Champion Stewart Cink is on hand this weekend and he’s a +4050 price to win this event. If you’re looking for a live underdog, you might want to consider Canadian Golfer Mike Weir, as his due factor is close to kicking in and now would be a great time for the 2003 MASTERS Champion to get back in the ring of champions and get back to winning some tournaments again.
Ron Raymond’s WGC-Bridgestone Golf Prediction
I’ve been on a nice run the last month or so, as my recommended golf picks have won or have lost on the final day on Sundays or playoff formats. Here’s how I like to bet on golf and I use a betting system that involves three picks which I rate from Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Here’s how I refer to my betting terms and units. Let’s say for this example only, my normal bet is $20, if I say I’m going to bet 5 units on Tiger Woods, this means I’m going to bet $100 units on Tiger Woods to win the event.
- Gold Pick: Kenny Perry +4550
- Silver Pick: Tiger Woods +165
- Bronze Pick: Retief Goosen +3050
*Note: Kenny Perry hasn’t played since the British Open, he’s taken some time off and sometimes a good mental break from the game will rejuvenate a golfer and give him a better frame of mind for the upcoming event. Perry has played in 18 events this season, he’s made the cut in every event and he’s finished in the top ten 7 times this year. Great value on a rested Kenny Perry.
